How the estimate works

Time equals file size divided by transfer speed after both values are converted to compatible units. For example, 100 MB at 10 Mbps takes 80 seconds at a constant full transfer rate.

Actual downloads may take longer because speed changes, shared connections, server limits and transfer overhead affect throughput. Use your measured download speed for a more useful estimate.

This calculator uses decimal MB, GB and TB. Binary units such as MiB and GiB are different and are not inputs in this version. Times of at least one second are rounded up to the next whole second.
